Writing the Final Paper

Final Paper
You have several options for the final paper.  You and your mentor should agree on which format to use.
  • Option 1 (The Rising Senior Option) : For SRMP Teams where at least one of the students is a rising senior, I strongly consider that you write the final paper in the format for the New York City Science and Engineering Fair (see attachment below).  You have already done the hard work and can enter this competition using your SRMP research! You can enter solo or in teams. However, only rising seniors can compete (no college folk) Please note, that there are 3 forms (below) that need to be signed by the mentor. If you choose Option 1, submit these three forms with your final paper.

  • Option 2: (The College Option) - If everyone in your group is going to college next year and if data from your study WILL NOT be published elsewhere, submit to one of the following journals for high school students: Young Scientists or Journal of Emerging Investigators. Why? Because you will get peer-review from scientists and your work will be published!

  • Option 3 (The Co-Author Option): If you are being considered as a co-author on  your mentor's academic paper, submit a final paper in the style of the target journal. Please let me know what journal you plan to submit to.
